In the heart of Chicago's vibrant Lakeview neighborhood stands a historic cinema, its grand structure beautifully converted into unique residential lofts. It was within this character-rich setting that we took on the renovation of two bathrooms, each designed with its own distinct personality and purpose.

The Moody, Modern Guest Bath
For the guest and hall bathroom, the goal was to create a space that was both highly functional for visitors and dramatically stylish. While we maintained the original layout, we infused it with a moody, modern aesthetic. The design is one of striking contrasts and warm textures.

We introduced a rich walnut vanity, its organic warmth providing a beautiful counterpoint to a crisp black-and-white color scheme. Large-format porcelain tile clads the space, creating a seamless and sophisticated backdrop. Functionality was paramount; we integrated clever storage solutions, including elegant shelving above the toilet, hooks for towels, and dedicated shelves within the shower, ensuring guests have everything they need in a space that feels like a boutique hotel.

The Serene, Spa-Like En Suite
The primary bathroom was envisioned as a light-filled private retreat—a complete departure from its former self. We began by removing an outdated jacuzzi tub, a move that allowed us to design an expansive, luxurious walk-in shower. The atmosphere is pure serenity, achieved through a palette of light, natural tones.

Large-format porcelain tiles with subtle veining sweep across the floors and walls, mimicking the look of natural stone and creating a tranquil, spa-like feel. Inside the shower, a stunning accent wall of wood-look porcelain tile adds an organic touch and visual warmth. We meticulously planned for in-shower storage, incorporating a large niche, a small shelf perfect for shaving, and hooks for towels and robes. The result is a clean, modern sanctuary designed for ultimate relaxation.
